IN SUMMARY
 

USTH:  Overall, how has this journey in creating and producing Chick been for you?
KS:  Amazing.  Chick was a passion project for me, so to have it become a reality is a dream come true.  I've also grown so much as an artist through this project, and I love having complete creative control.  That's awesome!

USTH:  What are some of the things you learned about the business and about yourself during this process?
KS:  I'm constantly reminded what an amazing time it is in the entertainment business right now.  With the Internet and cheap, quality equipment, the playing field has been leveled in many respects.  It’s a great time to be an independent producer because you can realize so much even with limited resources.  I'm amazed at how strong and resilient I've been while, at times, doing this show on my own.  This project has confirmed for me that you can do whatever you put your mind to.

USTH:  Finally, What advice would you give to anyone who aspires to create his or her own web series or self-produced project?
KS:  Keep it simple.  Especially if it’s you’re first time out.  Taking on too much too soon can kill your enthusiasm before you even get started.  Oftentimes, simple is much more powerful.
Find the passion.  Do something you are crazy passionate about.  This is the only way to make it through the rough patches which are guaranteed to come.
Just do it!  There's nothing more powerful than acknowledging your fears about doing something big and bold and then doing it anyway.  As the saying goes... Ready, Fire, Aim.
