USTOWNHALL SPEAKS TO MATT OF BIG BROTHER 12:
USTH: When you were put on the block following Brendon's POV, how confident were you that you could stay in the house? Describe what you did during the week to convince the others to keep you as the TV edit can only reveal so much.
MATT: My confidence level was low for staying in the house. My plans for trying were pretty good. I had a solid case for why the Brigade should keep me. They had a better chance of making it to the final three with me as their third because I was a strong competitor. I was too strong for them.
USTH: When did you know for certain that you would be evicted on Thursday night?
MATT: As soon as Britney got out of the handcuffs with Brendon, I knew that I was going home this week.
USTH: Why do you think the Brigade alliance sided with Enzo over you?
MATT: Because Enzo is a horrible competitor, and I am a great competitor. The Brigade members are weak and they needed someone they could beat.
USTH: Give us your true feelings of each of your housemates: Andrew, Annie, Brendon, Britney, Enzo, Hayden, Kathy, Kristin, Lane, Monet, Rachel, Ragan.
MATT:
- Andrew – Socially awkward
- Annie – funny chick
- Brendon – good guy that got put in a bad situation
- Britney – very evil but very smart
- Enzo – he's a man child
- Hayden – All-American charm
- Kathy – A danger to the police force
- Kristen – Weird chick in a good way
- Lane – one of the best friends you could have standing behind you
- Monet – endearing
- Rachel – likes the camera a lot
- Ragan – best friend a guy could ask for
USTH: Do you think you've made any real friends in the Big Brother house? Which housemates will you really make an effort to stay in touch with after finale night?
MATT: Ragan and all the Brigade members would be friends I would like to have for the rest of my life.
USTH: Why didn't you out the Brigade, even if you knew it couldn't save you, why didn't you stir up some chaos on your way out the door, Andrew-style?
MATT: That's low class game play. We all spend a lot of time and energy to get where we are. That is disrespectful to the other players and the game to out people and alliances when you are leaving out the door.
USTH: Which houseguest turned out to be the most different from your first impression of him or her and in what ways?
MATT: I think Lane was the most different. The first night he was the quietest guy in the house, but he has many layers. He is funny, intelligent and he has a very serious and emotional side that you would have never known on day one.
USTH: You've said you were a huge Big Brother fan and you've been trying to get on the series for years. Now that you've done it, has the overall experience lived up to your expectations? What surprised you the most about actually being part of the show?
MATT: It has and then some. It is one of the most memorable experiences that I will ever have. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
USTH: OK, you didn't win the show, but are you happy with your overall gameplay, or are you the type that's going to beat yourself up over your mistakes?
MATT: I should beat myself up because it was one stupid mistake that cost me the game. I'm not the type to do that. I'm just happy to have had the experience.
USTH: Thanks, Matt, for answering our questions. I know your fans will be interested to hear what you have to say!

USTOWNHALL SPEAKS TO BRENDON OF BIG BROTHER 12:
USTH: Do you really feel that your relationship with Rachel can last outside the Big Brother house? Has Rachel told you that she would move to California? If not, would it be possible for you to move to Las Vegas?
BRENDON: Rachel has told me she would be willing to move to LA, but again this is her decision. I don't want her to feel pressured in any way. I am not able to move to Vegas as I will be on a fellowship at UCLA for my PHD. But our emotions were real inside the BB house.
USTH: Beyond the physical attraction and Rachel's science background, what are the things that attract you most to Rachel?
BRENDON: Her amazingly huge heart and compassion that is simply unparallelled.
USTH: What was your strategy going into the house, and do you think your relationship with Rachel derailed it?
BRENDON: To not have a strategy...I didn't want to be perceived as a competitor as that would have put a huge target on my back.
USTH: If the offer were made to you to become the Saboteur, would you have done it?
BRENDON: I honestly think I might have. Can't say for certain, but I would have strongly considered it.
USTH: Give us your true opinions of each of the houseguests.
BRENDON:
- Rachel – Wonderful
- Andrew – Nutty
- Annie – Confused
- Britney – Entitled
- Enzo – Funny
- Hayden – Narcissistic
- Kathy – Hometown
- Kristen – Free-spirit
- Lane – Texas
- Matt – Manipulative
- Monet – Picky
- Ragan – Emotional
USTH: Besides Rachel, which houseguests do you feel you'll want to keep in touch with after the game is over?
BRENDON: Probably Andrew. He was really good to me inside the game especially when he didn't have to be. He's a genuinely nice guy who comes off as corky (sic) because he's so different from the rest of us.
USTH: Of the five houseguests that remained after you left, which ones would you like to see go to the final 2 and why?
BRENDON: Ragan...he's fought so hard to be there and probably Enzo.
USTH: What do you wish you had done differently during your time on Big Brother?
BRENDON: Nothing - if I could have spent more time inside the house with Rachel that would have been great. But it wasn't meant to be. I took it all in and I was very happy to be in the house and very happy to be out. I think it all happens for a reason.
USTH: Which houseguest turned out to be the most different from your first impression of him or her and in what ways?
BRENDON: By far, Rachel. From first glance I thought she was a vivacious party girl, who might not have had the most substance. This taught me that you definitely can't judge a book by its cover though.
USTH: Thanks, Brendon, for answering our questions. I know your fans will be interested to hear what you have to say!
