HIGHLIGHTS FROM BIG BROTHER SEASON 11:

Sunday, July 5 (DAY 1): Move in day.

Thursday, July 9 (DAY 5): Episode 1 airs.  The Big Brother house consists of 52 cameras and 80 microphones which are designed to keep tabs on the House Guests (HGs).  Ronnie, Laura, Russell, and Kevin enter the house first.  Chima, Braden, Natalie, and Casey enter the house second.  Finally, Jordan, Jeff, Michelle, and Lydia enter, and the game begins.

Julie announces that the HGs will be divided into cliques, as described above, and will be playing in competitions with their clique, but still playing the game overall as individuals.  The new rules for this season state that whoever is in the same clique as the Head of Household cannot be nominated for eviction or put up as a replacement nominee if the Power of Veto (POV) is used.

At the first HOH competition, Julie reveals that none of the 12 HGs will be the first HOH, but the winning clique will get a fourth member, a former house guest, added to their clique, and that this person will be the first HOH.  The former Big Brother contestants potentially returning to the game were: Michael Ellis from Big Brother 5 for the Offbeat clique, Jessica Hughbanks from Big Brother 8 for the Populars, Brian Hart from Big Brother 10 for the Brains, and Jessie Godderz from Big Brother 10 for the Athletes.

Jessie is revealed as the first Head of Household of the season after the Athletes clique wins the first HOH competition.

Sunday, July 12: The House Guests learn that the weekly food competitions have been replaced by a weekly Have/Have-Not competition where the losing clique will not only have to eat Big Brother Slop for the week, but will have to sleep in the Have-Not bedroom (which consists of sleeping on a mat atop a steel slab) and only be allowed to take cold showers.

The Athletes clique makes a secret alliance with Ronnie and Chima of the Brains clique.  They all agree that Chima of the Brains will go up as a pawn to hide the alliance, and that either Laura or Lydia should be the true target for eviction.  At the nomination ceremony, Jessie nominates Chima and Lydia for eviction.

Tuesday, July 14: After the nomination ceremony, Jeff realizes he is an outsider in his Athlete's clique because he was not told whom Jessie would be nominating for eviction.  Seeing Jeff hanging out with the other cliques, Jessie believes he cannot trust Jeff.  Jessie and Russell talk to Laura about joining their alliance.  Laura, afraid of being a target, agrees.

The participants in this veto competition besides Jessie, Chima, and Lydia are: Russell (picked by Jessie), Natalie (the house guest choice picked by Chima), and Jeff (picked by Lydia).  Jessie chooses Casey as the POV host.  The competition, entitled "Pop Goes the Veto," involves popping pimples on a giant face in the backyard, finding Scrabble-like tiles with letters on them and forming the longest word possible.  At the end of the competition, Jessie had attempted to spell "continuously," but incorrectly spelled it as "continously."  Natalie spelled "last."  Chima tried to spell "superficiality," but was missing the "fic" letters.  Russell spelled "shotgun," putting him in the lead.  Jeff attempted to spell the dubious word of "technotronics," but only succeeded in getting enough letters to spell "tectronics."  Finally, Lydia revealed that she attempted to spell "civilization," but was not able to find the "v."  Therefore, Russell wins the first Power of Veto.

In the wake of the veto competition, Russell, the self-proclaimed "love muscle," decides that, since he feels he can no longer trust Jeff who has been spending all of his time with Jordan, he should provoke and embarass Jeff in front of the other house guests.  The argument between Jeff and Russell spills over into another argument with Jeff and Natalie.  However, because Jeff is in the same clique as both Russell and Natalie, Jeff cannot be put up as a replacement nominee if the veto is used.

Lydia, desperate to get off the block, begins to work Russell to get him to use the veto on her.  At a later confab with Natalie and Jessie, Lydia brings up Braden as someone who is trying to charm his way around everyone.  Jessie thinks it could be good to take Lydia off and put Braden up in her place.  Talking about it to Russell, they feel that Braden is a threat because of his outgoing and persuasive nature and that he might put up Jessie and Russell if he ever won HOH.  Russell broaches the subject with Ronnie who agrees that Braden needs to go.  However, Ronnie begins to ramp up his own strategy of playing all sides of the house.  Ronnie tells Jessie's plan to Jeff and Jordan, and they then spill the beans to Braden.

However, Russell saw Ronnie and Braden speaking and noticed a change in Braden's mood.  When Russell confronted Ronnie about it, Ronnie denied telling Braden anything, but Russell wasn't convinced and told Jessie that Ronnie might be playing both sides.

At the veto meeting, Russell removes Lydia from the nomination block, but Jessie sticks to the plan and puts up Braden in her place.

Thursday, July 16 (DAY 12): After the veto meeting, Jordan suspects that there is someone working the house, but Braden thinks it's Russell and Natalie.  Later, Russell tries to do intelligence-gathering and find out what Braden knew and when he knew it.  Braden tells Russell he knew for a fact that Lydia went to see Russell and his alliance and threw him under the bus, and Russell confirmed it to Braden.  Braden then confronts Lydia about it in the yard, and all hell breaks loose in the first Big Brother drama-smackdown of the season.  Once Braden called Lydia a "bitch" and a "skank," and threw his glass of water on Kevin, it was off to the races.  Supposedly, during these arguments, Braden used some racial insults, and it was reportedly edited out of the broadcast by Big Brother.  Other comments by Braden allegedly included insults toward host Julie Chen.

Following her argument with Braden, Lydia comes in the house and yells at Jordan for being friends with Braden.  This brings Jeff into the argument.  Later, Jordan talks to Laura and tries a last ditch effort to switch the vote and get Ronnie, Michele, and Casey to vote out Chima to keep her clique-mate, Braden, in the house.  Ronnie agrees to the deal as does Casey.

At the live eviction, when the two nominees plead their case to their housemates, Chima drops the first bomb of the season, and spills the beans (so to speak) on what Braden said.  Chima ends her speech by calling Braden a "racist and a misogynist."  The studio audience present at the live eviction dutifully gasped in unison.  However, even though Big Brother is broadcast live on the East coast, there is still a 7-second delay, so the exact words Chima said were edited out.  We know them, but we're not going to share, sorry.

After narrowly escaping the wrath of Russell due to his blabbing about the Braden-eviction plan, Ronnie cleverly decides to piss off the other side of the house by voting to evict Braden after he promised he'd vote to evict Chima.

The votes were cast as follows: Russell evicts Braden; Natalie evicts Braden; Jeff evicts Chima; Jordan evicts Chima; Kevin evicts Braden; Laura evicts Chima; Lydia evicts Braden; Michele evicts Chima; Casey evicts Chima; Ronnie "is going to hell," and evicts Braden.  This sends the voting to a tie, and Jessie casts his vote to evict Braden.  Thus, the house evicts Braden, 6 to 5.

At the Head of Household competition, entitled "Most Likely To...," the HGs have to guess the answers that Big Brother fans gave to a series of questions based on the fans' first impressions of the cliques.  At the end, Ronnie becomes the new HOH, ushering in a whole new level of drama to the house that begins in the next episode.
